Description
Stock DualSense buttons use a soft rubber membrane — you have to bottom them out before they register. This service replaces the internal flex cable with an eXtremeRate clicky kit, swapping that membrane for real tactile switches. Face buttons and the D-pad get a crisp mouse-click feel. Triggers fire near the top of the pull instead of the bottom. We handle the teardown, the install, and full function testing on every button before it ships back.

How it works
Place your order
Select your DualSense board revision and which kit you want. If you're not sure which revision you have, pick your best guess — we stock every version and verify on arrival.
Print your work order and ship it in
Your work order comes with the order confirmation. Include it in the box with your controller so we can match it to your order the moment it lands. Sticks, shell, and cables only — no charging cable or accessories needed.
We confirm the board revision
First thing we do is open the controller and read the board revision directly rather than trusting the label. If the kit you ordered doesn't fit your hardware, we swap to the correct one at no charge and let you know.
Installation
The original flex cable comes out, the clicky kit goes in, and new rubber pads and screws go back with it. No soldering is involved, and nothing about the install is permanent — the controller can be returned to stock later if you ever want that.
Testing
Every face button, D-pad direction, bumper, and trigger gets pressed and verified for clean actuation and no double-presses. We also confirm sticks, gyro, touchpad, haptics, and charging still behave before it's boxed.

Which kit should you pick?
Face Buttons + D-Pad is the safe choice and the one most people want. It sharpens the buttons you press most, it doesn't touch the triggers, and every DualSense feature keeps working exactly as it did. Fighting game players in particular notice the D-pad difference immediately.
Hair Triggers is the competitive FPS choice. L1 and R1 fire after about half a millimeter, and L2/R2 travel drops from the stock five-to-six millimeters down to roughly two. It's a real advantage in shooters — at the cost of adaptive trigger feel.
Whole Set does both in a single flex cable. If you already know you want both, order it as the whole set rather than two separate jobs.
What we do while the controller is open
A clicky install requires a complete teardown, so we take care of a few things while we're in there at no extra charge: dust and debris cleared from the stick modules and trigger housings, ribbon connectors reseated, and a full function pass on the sticks, triggers, gyro, touchpad, and haptics. If we find a failing stick module or a swollen battery during that check, we contact you with a quote before doing anything beyond the kit install.
Common questions
The trigger kits change how L2 and R2 behave. After installation the triggers register almost immediately, which means adaptive trigger resistance no longer works the way it did from the factory — in racing games the triggers stay at full throttle response, and for shooters we recommend turning off Trigger Effect Intensity in your PS5 settings. If adaptive triggers matter to you, order the Face Buttons + D-Pad kit instead, which leaves the triggers completely untouched.
Yes. Rumble and haptics are unaffected by any of these kits.
Clicky kits don't add macros, turbo, or remapping — they change button feel only. Most organizers allow them, but check your specific ruleset.
Noticeably louder than stock. The whole point is a firm mechanical click, so if you game late at night near someone sleeping, that's worth knowing.
Yes. We install the strong version by default — it takes slightly more force, which prevents accidental presses. If you'd prefer the light version, tell us in the notes on your work order and we'll swap it at no extra cost.
The switches are rated for over three million presses, which is well past the lifespan of the rest of the controller.
Yes, and it's worth doing in the same shipment since the controller only has to come apart once. Mention it when you order and we'll quote it together.
